«You and Me» is now available online at Doc Alliance Films and in DVDs through Cinema Tropical

The documentary feature film «You and Me» from directors Natalia Cabral and Oriol Estrada is now available online through the documentary cinema platform Doc Alliance Films; also, “You and Me” is available on DVD for the US educational market through Cinema Tropical, distributor and promoter of Latin American cinema.

«You and Me» invites spectators into the intimate and complex relationship of an elderly lady and a young maid who share a small apartment. According to Chilean critic Luis Hortas: «The film is a portrait of a funny, curious and at the same time bitter relationship between two women: an old woman lives with her maid in Santo Domingo, and their coexistence is determined by the existencial loneliness they are both involved in. Their personalities and opposing stories ironically find shelter in the space they inhabit, as abandonment is transformed into a unique way of living. Distrusts hide the real emotions that have for each other, in a film that dignifies their lonely lives. »

«You and Me» premiered in 2014 at the prestigious Swiss festival Visions du Réel. Since then, “You and Me” has screened in various important festivals, winning several awards including the prize for best feature documentary at the Trinidad and Tobago Film Festival, special jury prize at the Cartagena International Film Festival, distribution prize at Spanish Márgenes Festival, among others. In the Dominican Republic, the film won the award for best documentary at the RDoc Dominican Festival, the documentary of the year award at La Silla Awards and was nominated for the Dominican Republic to the Platino Awards.
